Take Five Meditation

A quick and easy way to focus and calm your mind

TAKE FIVE is a meditation that you can do anywhere! We find that it can be a quick way to reset when feeling distracted or overwhelmed. After a brief pause with this exercise, it is often easier to think.

Here’s how it works:

  • You will use one hand to trace along the fingers of your other hand.

  • Breathe in as you slowly trace upwards on each finger.

  • Breathe out as you slowly trace downwards.

  • In the end, you will have taken five slow breaths. The feeling of tracing you hand is also often soothing.
